A bachelor's degree in Cyprus gives you a European-style qualification in a smaller, English-friendly setting. This guide covers how long it takes, what you can study, who is eligible and how to choose between public and private universities.
How long does a bachelor's take?
Many programmes follow the European credit system (ECTS). At the University of Cyprus an undergraduate degree is 240 ECTS, with 60 per academic year, which means four years. Private universities offer a mix of three- and four-year programmes depending on the subject, while degrees such as medicine are longer. Check the exact length for your course.
Popular bachelor's subjects
- Business administration, accounting and finance
- Tourism and hospitality management
- Computer science and information technology
- Engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical and others)
- Medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy and health sciences
- Law, psychology and social sciences
Eligibility for Indian students
- Completed Class 12 (or equivalent) with the subject combination the course needs, for example maths for engineering and computer science, science subjects for health courses
- Minimum marks set by the university, which vary by course
- Evidence of English proficiency (IELTS, TOEFL, a university test or an accepted alternative)

For medicine abroad, Indian citizens who plan to practise in India should check the National Medical Commission's current rules, which generally expect NEET qualification. Confirm this before enrolling.
